Chelsea fans convinced they’re signing Kylian Mbappe after spotting detail in Christopher Nkunku announcement

Kylian Mbappe to Chelsea? Some fans think it's happening.

Chelsea fans are convinced they're set to sign Kylian Mbappe after spotting a detail in Christopher Nkunku's announcement.

The Blues have officially snapped up Nkunku from RB Leipzig for £52 million, with the player becoming Mauricio Pochettino's first signing since he took charge in May.

He joins the Stamford Bridge outfit having scored an impressive 16 goals in 25 games in the Bundesliga this season.

The 25-year-old may not be the only Frenchman moving to Chelsea because fans think they're going to lure Mbappe to the club, too.

Why? Well, the Paris Saint-Germain man is the only other player included in Nkunku's announcement video, with Chelsea fans convinced it's a sign for this summer.

One Twitter user wrote: "Will Christopher Nkuku's signing be pivotal in landing PSG star player Kylian Mbappe at the bridge ???"

A second tweeted: "It's gonna happen OMG!"

A third added: "I’m praying it will happen"

An Arsenal fan joked: "Give him no 9, I wanna see something."

Another slammed the premise: "Without UCL football... you're over dreaming."

Mbappe, of course, has told PSG that he won't be renewing his contract, with the 24-year-old tipped to leave this summer.

Despite not having Champions League football, Chelsea have the resources to acquire the superstar forward.

But Real Madrid remain the favourites to land him this summer, having tried to sign him before.

Nkunku, meanwhile, expressed his joy at signing for Chelsea as he looks forward to playing in the Premier League.

"I am incredibly happy to be joining Chelsea. A big effort was made to bring me to the club. I am very excited for this challenge and will be proud to wear the Chelsea shirt," he said.

"Having played in Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga, I now want to play in the Premier League, one of the strongest leagues in the world.

"I am looking forward to meeting my new coach and team-mates and showing the Chelsea supporters what I can do on the pitch."
