Brazil could play their Second XI against Cameroon tonight and it's just as good as their first

Brazil could play their Second XI against Cameroon tonight and it's just as good as their first

The five-time World Cup winners have unbelievable squad depth

With qualification to the knock-out stages of the World Cup already secured, it's likely that Brazil will make several changes to their starting line-up for tonight's match against Cameroon.

But those tweaks are unlikely to weaken Tite's side, as the five-time World Cup winners possess arguably the best and deepest squad in the whole competition.

Let's start at the back. For the first two matches of the tournament, Liverpool's Alisson has been between the sticks.

He's set to be replaced tonight by none other than Manchester City star Ederson, one of the most impressive goalkeepers in the Premier League and a key part of Pep Guardiola's starting eleven.

In defence, Champions League winners Eder Militao and Dani Alves are set to enter the fray, with Juventus' Gleison Bremer and fullback Alex Telles expected to start too.

Less changes are expected in midfield, although one of the Premier League's most exciting talents, Newcastle United's Bruno Guimarães, is poised to make his first start in Qatar.

A raft of changes are expected up front though, with Richarlison and Vinicius Junior set to sit this one out.

In their place will be a combination of Real Madrid's Rodrygo, Arsenal duo Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli and Anthony, the second most expensive player in Manchester United's history.

Not bad ay! This remarkable squad depth has prompted many pundits to cite Brazil as their favourites to win the World Cup.

"Their squad has a great blend of experience with exciting and in-form young players who could have great tournaments," BBC Sport pundit Alex Scott said before the World Cup got underway.

"Like Vinicius Jr. Neymar is in great form too and, with every team having so little preparation time before the tournament to get key organisation right, it could come down to individual brilliance to settle some games."

However, with Cameroon needing a win to advance to the next stage, Brazil can't afford to let these changes make them complacent.

Kick-off on Friday night is at 7pm GMT.
