Bernardo Silva doesn't understand why Liverpool have more players in Team of the Year than Man City

City won the Premier League, but only had three players in PFA Team of the Year.

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has gone in on the Professional Footballers' Association for last season's Team of the Year selections.

City won the Premier League title in dramatic fashion on the final day after coming from 2-0 down to defeat Aston Villa 3-2.

Despite that, only three City players made it into the PFA's Team of the Year while six from second place Liverpool were selected.

He told ESPN: "Checking the Premier League Team of the Year every year and we never have the most players.

"We don't have the best manager, don't have the best players, but we still win four Premier Leagues in five years. It just doesn't make sense."

City manager Pep Guardiola was also beaten to Manager of the Year by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

Mohamed Salah was Player of the Year after scoring 23 goals, the joint-most in the league alongside Son Heung-min.

City winger Phil Foden was named Young Player of the Year and didn't manage to make it into the team.

Silva's nomination was his second since arriving in England, earning a place in Team of the Year during the 18/19 campaign.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium this summer and Barcelona are said to be interested.

Blaugrana boss Xavi has identified Silva as a key target should Frenkie de Jong leave the club and he's refused to rule out a departure.

He continued: "I've always said that I'm happy here but I have no idea what's going to happen. We'll see, honestly.

"My relationship with the club is very honest. I've been open with them and they know what I want.

"If I stay, I'm very happy and I will always respect this club and give all my best. If not, it's football and we'll just see what happens."

Silva made 35 appearances in the Premier League last term, registering eight goals and four assists.

He came off the bench in Sunday's 2-0 victory over West Ham United at the London Stadium.
