A stunning compilation of Ben White's monstrous showing against Chelsea shows he has to be included in England's World Cup squad.

White starred as Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League after beating Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The 25-year-old was assured at the back and helped his side keep a clean sheet in West London.

He showed off his defensive skills, shutting down Chelsea's left-hand side - including a vital clearance in the second half.

White also performed brilliantly going forward, linking up nicely with Bukayo Saka. He was efficient in possession as he showed his worth at right-back.

His versatility and the injuries to some of England's other defensive options prove he must be included in Gareth Southgate's World Cup squad.

White could slot in at the back as a central defender or play on the flank, having impressed in that position for Arsenal this season.

Fans online are convinced he should be on the plane to Qatar.

One Twitter user wrote: "Ben White has to be in the England squad for the World Cup, right? We all know Gareth Southgate loves a right back and he can play at CB and DM too."

A second tweeted: "Whatever back line Southgate wants to use , it will be criminal IF Ben White doesn’t make the World Cup final list."

A third added: "Ben White was class once again. He’s been incredible this season."

Another commented: "Ben White is borderline World Class imo."

Speaking after Arsenal's victory over Chelsea, Mikel Arteta was asked whether White should in England's World Cup squad.

"That isn’t for me to decide," he said. "If he does, I will be so happy for him, because he deserves it."

The Gunners have two fixtures left before the season breaks for the World Cup.

They face Brighton in the EFL Cup then travel to Wolves on Saturday for a league meeting.

White could be rested against his old team, but is expected to start against Wolves.
