Ben White inadvertently delivered a viral post-match interview following Arsenal's victory over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup.

White started Arsenal's semi-final first-leg at Stamford Bridge and opened the scoring in the seventh minute.

Viktor Gyokeres added a second after the break before Alejandro Garnacho pulled one back. Martin Zubimendi restored his side's two-goal led, with Garnacho reducing the deficit seven minutes from time.

Arsenal will take a one-goal lead into their second-leg tie against Chelsea at the Emirates next month.

After the game on Wednesday, White and Gyokeres spoke to Sky Sports to discuss their Carabao Cup victory over Chelsea.

Sky Sports reporter Natalie Gedra conducted the post-match interview and asked Gyokeres about his goal before highlighting the enormity of Arsenal's win given Chelsea's goals.

He said: "It's not his [Ben White's] first assist for me. I knew he was trying to find me and he did, so it was nice. That's what I need to do and I can do it more often. We won today and we keep going."

As Gyokeres answered, White looked on and cut a seemingly disinterested figure that didn't go unnoticed among Arsenal fans on social media.

People online were quick to jump on the post-match interview, jokingly claiming White 'needs to be studied'.

One X user wrote: "Ben White excelling in something he has absolutely no interest in honestly needs to be studied lmao."

A second said: "This is definitely a man that will be doing no punditry after retirement. Beach days and vibes for the next 50 years."

A third tweeted: "We need a documentary with Ben, hands down seems to be the funniest person in the squad."

Another added: "Benny staring at Gyokeres like hurry up I want to go home."

Does Ben White 'hate' football?

White may be a highly-skilled footballer but he is not obsessed with the sport and has previously admitted that he doesn't engage with it once he leaves the training ground.

The notion that he hates football gained traction after he pulled out of the England squad during the 2022 World Cup.

But the 28-year-old does not hate football as he set the record straight in an interview with Ben Foster.

Asked if he hates football, White replied: "No, of course not.

"It was a massive thing, there were a few things that I said. Obviously I don’t watch it.

"For me, it’s not a big deal. That’s why I said it at the time. Training, the amount of videos you have to do every day, it’s so extreme, so when I come home I just want to forget about it.

He added: "[My dogs] are literally my life, so no football on, don’t talk about it when I come home, mum and dad don’t speak to me about it, it’s just like it’s not my job basically."
