Ben Foster tried to persuade Nani to join Wrexham at Soccer Aid

Wrexham goalkeeper Ben Foster filmed the Soccer Aid game on his GoPro and posted the footage to YouTube on Tuesday evening.

Here we go. Ben Foster has finally dropped his much-anticipated vlog from Soccer Aid – and one of the highlights involves former Manchester United winger Nani.

The 40-year-old goalkeeper-turned-YouTuber, who recently penned a one-year deal with Wrexham after helping the club achieve promotion to League Two, featured at Old Trafford alongside some star names.

Mauricio Pochettino, the World XI manager, had the likes of Hernan Crespo, Francesco Totti, Gabriel Batistuta, Roberto Carlos and Tommy Fury at his disposal on Saturday.

But one of the biggest cheers of the night came when Foster's name was called out over the tannoy ahead of kick-off – a nod to his popularity on a YouTube channel with over 1.4 million subscribers.

He kept a clean sheet during the opening 45 minutes before Pochettino's World XI side stormed to a 4-2 victory but more importantly, the game raised an incredible £14,619,005 for UNICEF.

Three days after the final whistle and Foster has dropped an entertaining 27-minute vlog from the event, featuring a behind-the-scenes look of the days leading up to Soccer Aid, as well as in-game content.

Foster also grabbed a word with some of the celebrities involved, including free agent Nani, who was recently released by A-League side Melbourne Victory.

After collecting their winners' medal, Foster asked his teammate the important question. "Nani hasn't got a club everybody," the goalkeeper said. "I think he should come to Wrexham..."

Nani replied: "You never know", a reply that brought a laugh from Foster, who called the former Portugal international a "liar" following his response, although the smirk on Nani's face could suggest otherwise.

As you can imagine, their conversation at Old Trafford sparked plenty of reaction online.

One fan said: "Ben Foster trying to get Nani to Wrexham at Soccer Aid...why not, Nani!" while another commented: "Just watched @BenFoster's new vlog at Soccer Aid. Nani is definitely coming to Wrexham."

A third added during the game: "Nani is one more stepover away from Ryan Reynolds asking him to sign for Wrexham."

You can watch the full vlog below. It's well worth a watch.

Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney will provide the League Two club with a hefty wage budget as they head into the 2023/24 campaign, but whether they'd be able to afford Nani is a different story.

Foster, meanwhile, is tipping Wrexham for a second consecutive promotion.

"I think we'll do alright, I really do," he said on The Fellas podcast.

"That first day of training when I got to see them, I thought 'ooh, there's no way you're National League'. I genuinely thought they'd do alright in League One, and maybe even in the Championship they'd hold their own.

"Wrexham last season beat Coventry in the FA Cup, held Sheffield United to a 3-3 draw and they scored a last-minute equaliser, and they only just narrowly lost in the reverse fixture as well. So they know how to play these types of players and they will step up their game when they need to.

"I've already seen a stat that says Wrexham are favourites to get promoted already. We've just been promoted, and now we're favourites to go up again. I'd back that as well... I'd back that because they're ballers."
