Fans think Barnsley have released the worst kit ever

League One side are sponsored by US Mobile and look more like they belong in MLS than the English Football League.

League One side Barnsley may have brought out the worst kit in football history, at least that seems to be the opinion of many fans.

It's that wonderful time of year where we're starting to find out how all of the teams will be dressed next season and which kits fans will be wearing.

Manchester United seemingly gave their new home shirt a soft launch last weekend when Aitch wore it during his set on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury.

The kit wasn't officially released until three days after the appearance but the rapper had given the game away in front of his adoring fans.

Not that fans could actually go and buy it at the Megastore when it came out, at least not without getting a round of boos from protestors.

Arsenal fans might want to protest their kit launch as well this season, with their away black and green shirt not a huge hit with everyone.

However it's likely that the Gunners will be thinking their shirt looks like a piece of art considering the offering from League One side Barnsley.

The third tier side's red and white shirt is adorned with US Mobile as the sponsor, whose eagle logo is just the start of the issues.

On top of that there are six large white stars on the shoulders of the shirt, the largest of which look like they've been stretched out on power point.

Barnsley's kit is quite something.

"Barnsley’s new home kit makes me want to rename them to the South Yorkshire Tykes and chuck them in the old NASL," said one fan.

"Arguably the first n only time I'll ever feel bad for Barnsley fans cos thats f***ing horrendous," added a second.

A third asked: "Can you name a worse kit that Barnsley’s one for next season?"

"Somehow the sponsor isn’t the worst part of Barnsley new kit," noted another supporter.

"That home kit looks horrid, i’d rather play in last seasons kit than get something that looks like that," cried a fifth.

On the loss of manager Michael Duff to Swansea City another joked: "No wonder duff left this is one of the worst home kits I have ever seen."

"Releasing potentially the worst football kit of all time is the most Barnsley thing ever," argued another fan.

And on a similar note one other supporter replied: "Basically I woke up to us trending on Twitter cos of how s**t our kit is can I please have one nice day being a Barnsley fan."

Last season the Yorkshire side finished fourth in the league table but were defeated by Sheffield Wednesday in the play-off final at Wembley.
