Arsenal 'willing to sell two first team players this summer'

Arsenal are reportedly willing to sanction a surprise transfer.

Arsenal are willing to sell two first team players this summer, including a former club captain, according to a new report.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu are looking at ways to improve the squad this summer, having targeted a new central midfielder throughout the recent January window.

The club have assigned their primary target as West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, according to reports, a task which may be made easier or harder depending on whether the Hammers win the Europa Conference League.

They also lodged two bids for Brighton star Moises Caicedo in January, but they were rejected by the Seagulls and the Ecuadorian went on to sign a new long-term contract with Roberto De Zerbi's side.

In recent days, Arsenal have been linked with a surprise move for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, with the Daily Mail claiming that they will rival Liverpool and Bayern Munich for the player's signature.

Any addition could result in a surprise outgoing transfer, according to a new report, with another player set for a Gunners departure.

Arsenal 'willing to listen to offers' for two first team players

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are willing to listen to offers for left-back Kieran Tierney, who has struggled for playing time since the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The Scotland international has started just one Premier League game this season, and the 25-year-old has been linked with a move to Juventus, Newcastle and Aston Villa.

Furthermore, a report from Football Insider claimed that Manchester City were planning a surprise swoop for the defender this summer as what would effectively be a replacement for Zinchenko.

In addition, the Mail report that the Gunners would be willing to listen to offers for "special" midfielder Granit Xhaka - a surprise given the Swiss international's impressive season to date.

Playing in a more advanced role this term compared to previous campaigns, Xhaka has chipped in with

A former club captain, the 30-year-old has helped to marshal a young Arsenal squad into Premier League title contention.

But he could be the one to be pushed out of the XI if Rice, Caicedo or Mount are signed, meaning that, in such a scenario, the midfielder may decide to move on.
