Arsenal rescued a point against Southampton after scoring two goals in two minutes from the 88th minute.

The Gunners kept their Premier League title hopes alive after producing a spirited comeback at the Emirates on Friday.

They trailed 3-1 when there was just two minutes left of normal time, with Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka scoring in the 88th and 90th minute.

Carlos Alcaraz opened the scoring in the very first minute after Aaron Ramsdale misplaced his pass. The Argentinean finished superbly to make it 1-0.

Former Arsenal man Theo Walcott doubled his side's lead when Alcaraz put him through on goal. The Saints forward made no mistake as he slotted home.

Gabriel Martinelli pulled one back in the 20th minute, with Arsenal putting the pressure on Southampton in the second-half.

However, it was the visitors who scored again as Duje Caleta-Car headed home from a corner to restore their two-goal lead.

But Arsenal fought till the very end as Odegaard and Saka scored late goals to earn their side a point.

Mikel Arteta's side remain at the top of the table but have failed to extend their lead over Manchester City.

They're five points ahead of the title holders, having played two more games than their rivals.

The Blues aren't in league action this weekend as they face Sheffield United in the FA Cup.

Pep Guardiola's team resume their league campaign at home to Arsenal next Wednesday in a potential title-deciding showdown.
