"Unbelievable" - Sky man left stunned by what Arsenal player did against Nottingham Forest

Clinton Morrison is a huge fan of Arsenal star William Saliba.

Sky Sports pundit Clinton Morrison spoke of his amazement at the performance of Arsenal star William Saliba during his side's 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

The Gunners re-established control of the top of the Premier League table with the victory, after briefly dropping to second following Manchester City's 1-0 win over Leicester on Saturday.

It was an emphatic display by the Gunners, and the scoreline certainly reflected that.

It took Gabriel Martinelli just five minutes to open the scoring for his fifth goal of what has been an incredibly impressive season so far for the Brazilian.

Four Arsenal goals came in the second half, with Reiss Nelson netting a brace on what was his first Premier League appearance of the season.

Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard also got on the scoresheet as Mikel Arteta's side recorded a big win.

But speaking on Sky Sports, former Crystal Palace striker Morrison reserved huge praise for one player not involved in Arsenal's attacking play.

Morrison, whose son was enrolled in Nottingham Forest's academy, was covering the game on Soccer Saturday - and was amazed by the defensive work of Saliba following an interception to take the ball away from Taiwo Awoniyi.

He explained (quotes via TBR Football): "Wow. The defending there from Saliba is unbelievable.

"Awoniyi was in on goal, kind of on the right-hand side. He just said, 'Get off me', and brought the ball out. He's like a Rolls-Royce."

Saliba has started each of the Gunners' 12 Premier League games this season, and has formed an excellent partnership with Gabriel at the heart of Arsenal's defence.

Speaking in August, after the 21-year-old scored in a win over Bournemouth, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said: "That is individual talent and a moment of real quality that he showed. But I am really pleased with his performance.

"What he is doing at 21 years old is rare. He remains really humble. He wants to learn, he wants to train every day and he is really demanding of himself, and he is giving a lot to the team."

With reports from The Athletic claiming that the club have offered Saliba a new contract, Gunners fans will hope the Frenchman is representing their club for a long time to come.
