Arsenal are keeping tabs on Naby Keita and may look to sign the midfielder on a free next summer, according to reports.

Keita sparkled for Liverpool towards the end of last season but is yet to have made an appearance for Jurgen Klopp’s side this term due to a series of injuries.

With Keita out of contract next summer, a number of Premier League clubs have registered an interest in signing the Guinea international on a free transfer.

According to a fresh 90min report Arsenal are keeping tabs on Keita, while rivals Tottenham and Chelsea are also monitoring the midfielder’s situation with a view to signing him next summer.

Keita moved to Liverpool from RB Leipzig for £52.75million in the summer of 2018, but his time at Anfield has been plagued by problems.

According to the report, Keita’s agents pushed for Liverpool to tie their client down to a new deal before the close of the summer transfer window.

When a new contract failed to materialise, however, it was allegedly made known to the Reds hierarchy that Keita was unhappy with his situation at Anfield.

The midfielder has impressed in glimpses during his four year spell in England, and was once even labelled as “world class” by his Liverpool team mate Virgil Van Dijk.

In 2020 Van Dijk told Liverpoolfc.com: “Naby is a fantastic guy. He works so hard and he is an outstanding football player.

“We see it week in week out.”

The centre-back added: “I think he is world class, if I’m absolutely honest. I see all the moments when he has the ball, the smart moves, the smart intelligence.

“It’s just incredible to see”.

Keita is also said to have received interest from clubs in Germany, Italy, Spain and France.

Should he decide to leave the Premier League to go abroad, he would be able to negotiate a free transfer from January.
