"They will get hammered" - Pundit makes surprise Arsenal vs Liverpool prediction

Chris Sutton predicts Arsenal vs Liverpool

Liverpool travel to the Emirates Stadium to face league leaders Arsenal, and BBC Sport’s Chris Sutton doesn’t have high hopes for the Reds going into the fixture.

Writing in his predictions column for BBC, Sutton revealed he doesn’t just think Liverpool “will get beaten on Sunday, I think they will be hammered.”

Sutton continued “I think Liverpool will score, even though they have not quite clicked this season.

“But Arsenal’s attacking talent are going cause them a lot of problems at the other end.”

It is a bold claim from Sutton. While Liverpool have struggled in the Premier League this season, they are yet to suffer a heavy defeat.

And Sutton believes Jurgen Klopp's side will concede 4 on Sunday, providing just 1 goal in return.

There was of course one occasion on which they did crumble, away in Naples in the Champions League.

Napoli swept aside Liverpool and amid some calamitous defending from the Reds, the Serie A outfit managed to put 4 goals past them with relative ease.

However, Liverpool have been unbeaten since then, and it’d be surprising to see Klopp’s side, who have for so long been such a formidable outfit, get hammered again.

Nevertheless, if any side were able to deal such a blow to Liverpool, it could be Arsenal who are the Premier League’s in-form side alongside Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta’s team have failed to pick up all three points from a Premier League fixture on just one occasion this season.

And after narrowly missing out on Champions League football last year, it’d appear the Gunners are in a better position to change their fate in that regard this time around.
