Arsenal set incredible new Premier League record in Fulham win

Arsenal have set a new Premier League record after a convincing 3-0 win over Fulham saw them restore a five- point lead at the top of the table.

Mikel Arteta's side's impressive attacking performance saw them easily despatch Fulham who have had an impressive first season back in the top flight.

On paper, the game looked like it would be tough, but the Gunners continued to show why they are a force to be reckoned with by setting an incredible new league record.

They have become the first side in history to win five consecutive London derbies away from home without conceding a single goal.

As well as the result on Sunday, the run includes wins over Crystal Palace, Brentford, Chelsea and North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal have scored 11 goals in these games and picked up a maximum of 15 points showing real quality in high pressure situations.

Arteta's revolution

Nobody could have predicted Arsenal's form this season with their fifth-placed finish last term putting a lot of pressure on boss Arteta.

However, the Spaniard has responded in the best way possible and whilst the Gunners may not have the best individuals they are a great team.

Arteta has been reluctant to rotate in the league which may explain why the players have such good chemistry but it comes with its negatives too.

As fixtures came thick and fast many predicted they would fall away and whilst there has been tired legs and injuries they've still maintained a steady gap at the top.

The Gunners' biggest test is yet to come as they face a difficult run in between now and the end of the season with trips to title rivals Manchester City as well as Liverpool and Newcastle United.

April is when the pressure really ramps up and it's a scenario a lot of their players won't be used to with City likely to take advantage of any slip-ups.
