Arsenal are planning to make a move for Chelsea target Dusan Vlahovic after the Blues' attempts to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk, according to a fresh report.

Ukrainian youngster Mudryk has been linked with a move to north London for months, with the Gunners having reportedly seen a £35million + £17million in add-ons offer for the player rebuffed earlier this week.

And The Guardian has now claimed that Chelsea are also interested in signing the 21-year-old.

Graham Potter's side appear to be in a free-spending mode under the new ownership of Todd Boehly, with the Blues also looking to tie up a massive deal for Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez. Indeed, Chelsea seem more likely than Arsenal to bid close to Shakhtar Donetsk’s £88million asking price for Mudryk.

In turn, Arsenal could attempt to hijack Chelsea's move for striker Vlahovic.

Vlahovic to Arsenal?

Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport claims Arsenal are ready to battle their London rivals for the Vlahovic.

The Gunners attempted to sign the Serbian a year ago, but the striker opted for a move to Juventus instead.

Despite a respectable return of seven goals in his 15 Juve outings this term, Vlahovic has generally struggled in Turin and is already being linked with a move away.

Chelsea, who are keen to strengthen their attacking option in January, have reportedly identified the forward as a potential signing.

However, the Gunners are now said to be interested in the player, who was described as having “incredible potential” by team-mate Danilo.

The knee injury suffered by Gabriel Jesus at the World Cup has meant Arteta has only one fit striker in his squad - Eddie Nketiah.

While Nketiah has claimed two goals in his last two games, Arsenal will still need more strength in depth in the forward positions to maintain their title challenge for the remainder of the season.
