Lacazette wasn't the only player to score four times, as Lyon and Montpellier played out an incredible game in Ligue 1.

Alexandre Lacazette was Lyon's hero, as they completed a remarkable 20 minute comeback to beat Montpellier, thanks to the forward's four goals.

Former Arsenal striker Lacazette returned to his hometown club at the beginning of this season, after five years in north London.

Certainly the Premier League title challengers haven't missed him all too much, with their latest win over Newcastle United keeping them on pace with Manchester City.

However, he's certainly provided plenty of entertainment for his Ligue 1 side, chipping in with 20 goals, before Sunday, and helping his side in their battle for European places.

All of that, even after missing pre season with a wasp sting, of all things, and then needing surgery in mid-season, after losing his voice.

Sunday though provided his greatest moment of the season, in one of the great comebacks of the campaign for any team, as they hosted Montpellier.

The 31-year-old opened the scoring in the 31st minute, but the hosts actually found themselves 4-1 down after 55 minutes, thanks to a ridiculous period for the visitors either side of half time.

However, Laca turned things around, with help from a Dejan Lovren goal, scoring four times, including a 100th minute penalty winner, to earn Laurent Blanc's side all three points.

UNBELIEVEABLE SCENES! 🔥

After the hero of the piece scored the opener just after the half hour mark, it was Montpellier's Elye Wahi who must have thought he was going to steal the headlines.

The 20-year-old Frenchman equalised in the 40th minute and then surprisingly put his side ahead just one minute later, a lead they kept into the break.

At the start of the second half he continued his unreal spell, scoring a hat-trick in the 53rd minute and then grabbing his fourth two minutes later.

Lacazette then pulled one back just before the hour mark, before former Liverpool defender Lovren made it 4-3 with 20 minutes to go.

Lyon captain Lacazette then equalised in the 82nd minute, before the addition of five minutes gave both sides the chance to grab a winner.

In the fifth extra minute of injury time, Lacazette rose above the pressure of the late spot kick to slot his effort home and kick off the incredible scenes.
