Eden Hazard has been ranked higher than the likes of Robert Lewandowski and Erling Haaland in the list of highest-paid players in Europe.

During his time with Chelsea, Hazard developed into one of the finest wingers in world football, which earned him a big-money move to Real Madrid in 2019.

However, his time at the Bernabeu has been badly hampered by injury and subsequent poor form. Overall his time with Madrid has been described as a failure.

Despite this, Hazard is still part of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad and according to French news outlet L’Equipe, he is still one of the highest-paid players in European football.

The report states that Hazard earns an annual gross salary of €27 million, which is more than the likes of Lewandowski and Haaland, who takes home a reported €26 million and €22 million respectively.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the top three earners are Paris Saint Germain superstars Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Frenchman Mbappe came out on top with a whopping salary of €72 million, whilst Neymar was second with €44.1 million, ahead of Messi in third with €40.5 million.
