'Aaron Ramsdale Is Better Than Jordan Pickford', Brendan Rodgers Calls Him The Best English Keeper

Aaron Ramsdale is a 'better goalkeeper' than Jordan Pickford, says Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink - while Brendan Rodgers has hailed the Arsenal star as the best English keeper at the moment.

Ramsdale starred in net as the Gunners beat Leicester City 2-0 to climb above Manchester United into fourth place in the league.

The English stopper produced a moment of magic to deny the Foxes a goal, incredibly saving Harvey Barnes' header that stunned Rodgers.

He mouthed 'wow' at his bench, with Ramsdale's heroics applauded by the Leicester boss and the Sky Sports pundits.

Hasselbaink claimed Ramsdale's a 'better keeper' than Pickford, with Jamie Redknapp also showering him with praise.

"He ticks every box," said Redknapp who highlighted the 23-year-old's distribution.

Micah Richards also sang his praises, but also stated that Jordan Pickford hasn't let Gareth Southgate down.

Speaking after his side's defeat at the Emirates, Rodgers' singled out Ramsdale's showing and gave him a huge compliment.

"For me he's the best English keeper at the moment. I think he's top," he said.

"His progression since he came to Arsenal, he's playing for a huge club, different expectation with how to play football, I think he's dealt with that really well.

"It looks like he's come into the club here, he's playing now with a calmness. We saw him earlier this season and he was jumping about, but now he's got a really nice calmness to his game.

"He plays well with his feet, he makes saves, his save from Barnes looked in all the way, that was a great save and it kept Arsenal in front."

Ramsdale has played 23 league games this season since becoming the club's No.1.

He has 12 clean sheets to his name, having been a reliable member of Mikel Arteta's team.

The keeper's performances for Arsenal have also caught the eye of Southgate, who handed him his first international cap last year
