Fan footage shows perfect angle of the moment Aaron Ramsdale was attacked

Ramsdale had an altercation with Richarlison, after the goalkeeper celebrated Arsenal's win, before a fan came down from the stands.

A Tottenham Hotspur fan perfectly caught the moment another supporter aimed a kick at Aaron Ramsdale, as well as the Richarlison altercation.

One thing missing from the pitch during the north London derby was a bit of blood and thunder, with just the six yellow cards handed out.

Perhaps if Spurs had shown a bit more battling spirit they wouldn't have fallen two goals behind, thanks to Hugo Lloris' huge mistake and Martin Odegaard's great strike.

Antonio Conte's side improved in the second half, such is their way, and Ramsdale earned the Player of the Match for several good saves.

However, after the match things did turn ugly, with a Spurs fan coming down from the stands and aiming a kick at the visiting side's goalkeeper.

Whilst Sky Sports' cameras got a good view, another fan sat behind the goal and just a few rows away, captured the incident perfectly, as you can see in the video below.

The whole thing happened when Ramsdale responded to the stick he'd been getting throughout the second half, from the fans behind him, by celebrating towards them at the final whistle.

Spurs forward Richarlison, who also had a falling out with Brazil teammate Gabriel Martinelli, was not happy at all and went over to shush the keeper, before then getting angrier and pushing him in the head.

Ramsdale walked away and went to collect his water bottle from behind the goal, when the fan came down and was missed by stewards.

After kicking out at the former Bournemouth goalkeeper, a steward pushed the fan away before he scurried away and into the crowd.

In a statement the clubs said, "We are appalled by the behaviour of a supporter that attempted to attack Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale at the end of today’s match. Violence in any form has no place in football.

"The Club has reviewed its CCTV footage to identify the supporter and will be working with the Met Police, Arsenal and Aaron Ramsdale to take the strongest possible action, including an immediate ban from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium."

Certainly the new footage will make it even easier for them to identify the delinquent who decided that a football result was just cause for assaulting someone.

Speaking afterwards, Spurs fan, and former Charlton Athletic midfielder, Darren Ambrose said that the supporter should be banned for life.

"He kicked him in the back, it's disgraceful, it's unforgivable," the former Premier League star told talkSPORT.

"Look, I'm a Spurs supporter, I'm hurting like everyone else, but that guy there should be arrested and banned for life. He's just assaulted Aaron Ramsdale."

There was at least some humour in the incident, with Mikel Arteta dragging Granit Xhaka away from the whole thing, like the one mate who makes sure no one gets in a fight on a night out.

And an Arsenal fan proved it's possible to enjoy yourself at a game, even surrounded by the wrong supporters, as he showed off his away shirt whilst sat amongst Tottenham fans.
