Red Bull are reportedly considering bringing a driver that was sacked by Christian Horner back to resolve their second driver problem.
In a surprising statement on July 9, Red Bull announced that they had dismissed team principal and CEO Horner, with Laurent Mekies replacing him.
The Brit had spent more than 20 years working with Red Bull and oversaw the F1 team as they won a combined 14 Drivers' and Constructors' Championship titles.
However, with Horner now gone, it has been widely speculated that there could be some serious changes within Red Bull, including within the driver lineup.

After months of rumours linking him to Mercedes, star driver Max Verstappen now looks set to stay at Red Bull, but it now appears that teammate Yuki Tsunoda could be replaced by a driver once sacked by Horner.

In recent years, Red Bull have consistently struggled to find a second driver that can perform to the high standards set by Verstappen.
Despite claiming 16 race wins during his four seasons with Red Bull, Sergio Perez was sacked at the end of the 2024 season, with Liam Lawson taking his seat at the start of this year.

Unfortunately for the Kiwi driver, things didn't exactly go to plan, as he was replaced by current teammate Yuki Tsunoda, who has scored just 10 points across 14 races for Red Bull.
And now, a report from F1 Oversteer has revealed that Chalerm Yoovidhya, who owns 49% of the team, wants to bring Alex Albon back into the second seat as Verstappen's teammate.
Amid Tsunoda's lacklustre performances, it has been strongly rumoured that Racing Bulls rookie Isack Hadjar could get the call up to Red Bull, but Yoovidhya instead wants to bring Albon back.
Albon, who currently drives for Williams, came through Red Bull's driver academy and made his debut for Toro Rosso in 2019.

His promising start led to him being promoted to Red Bull halfway into his rookie season, only to be sacked by Horner at the end of 2020.
But the 29-year-old has been enjoying a new lease of life at Williams and has been one of the stadnout performers of the 2025 season, leaving him eighth in the driver standings with 54 points so far
However, despite reportedly maintaining a good relationship with his fellow Thai Yoovidhya, the report claims that Albon is not open to the move and would prefer to stay at Williams after they gave him a second chance in the sport back in 2022.
