Liam Lawson has spoken out amid reports he could be let go by Red Bull Racing at the end of the campaign.

After impressing towards the back end of the 2024 season, Lawson was promoted from Visa Cash App Racing Bulls to Red Bull, becoming Max Verstappen's teammate.

However, the 23-year-old was replaced after just two races, with Yuki Tsunoda taking over.

As a result, Lawson returned to Racing Bulls, partnering rookie Isack Hadjar.

Since returning to Racing Bulls, Lawson has experienced a mixed season, but he did secure his best finish at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, finishing in fifth place.

Looking ahead, it has been widely reported that Hadjar would be promoted to Red Bull and drive alongside Verstappen next season.

Meanwhile, young star Arvid Lindblad is set to drive for Racing Bulls in 2026, meaning Lawson and Tsunoda will be fighting for the last remaining seat in the Red Bull set-up.

On Thursday, ahead of this weekend's Mexican Grand Prix, Lawson delivered a defiant statement when asked about his future, claiming he has 'done everything' he can to secure a seat for next season.

As per Racing News 365, the New Zealander said: "Hindsight is amazing, you always look back on stuff that you've done, you always learn from things.

"We’re not perfect. I'm definitely not perfect. For sure, there are things over a season and that I'll look back on and learn from, mainly, but I think that's the main thing."

Lawson continued: "As long as looking back on those mistakes or things that I learned from them and trying to do them again, that's the most important thing. From that side, yes, I feel like I've done everything that I can, and I'll continue doing that.

"I‘m just going to drive as fast as I can every time I get in the car and don't change too much. Obviously it's a results-based program. It's always been performance-based since, since I joined when I was 16. It was always ‘perform and you get promoted’ and you stay in the sport. That's literally as simple as I can put it."
