One major difference between Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc's Ferrari has been revealed.

Last time out, Ferrari had an awful weekend at the Chinese Grand Prix.

Despite Hamilton winning the sprint race, both the Brit and Leclerc were disqualified from the main race due to excessive skid wear and an underweight car respectively.

On Friday morning, Hamilton and Leclerc had a positive start to the weekend with a positive showing in FP1 and FP2.

Ahead of the weekend, it was revealed that Ferrari have made a major change to the steering wheel in Hamilton's car.

As reported by Motorsport, Hamilton has been given a new lever for clutch and gear shift.

It has been suggested that the Scuderia have also tried to replicate the 'automation seen on Hamilton's Mercedes steering wheel on to their own with a specially developed software'.

Furthermore, the screen on the steering wheel will also differ from Leclerc's.

All this is done in a bid to help the seven-time world champion adapt quicker to his new car.

As per La Gazzetta Ferrari on social media, who wrote: "Lewis Hamilton adapted the SF-25 steering wheel setup to match what he was used to at Mercedes.

"He made hardware changes like modifying the clutch paddle, and also requested software updates that display engine mode (ENG) and energy level (SOC) on screen—features not present on Leclerc’s display.

"He also repositioned the hybrid control dial from the top to the lower section of the wheel, following his previous layout at Mercedes. Ferrari manages usage modes through both ENG/SOC selectors and a quick-access central dial, offering settings like “RACE,” “BOX,” “FOR,” and “PSH.” Additionally, Hamilton had a “Multi” section added to the screen to monitor secondary settings in real time."

Speaking after FP2, Ferrari star Hamilton gave a positive reaction, he said: "It's been a really nice day. This track is awesome.

"We got through all the programme, we got some performance we need to pick up. We are not the quickest at the moment but I think it's a good baseline."
