George Russell and Charles Leclerc were involved in an awkward exchange following the Australian GP that saw Mercedes finish first and second.
It was Russell who took maximum points in Melbourne, but Ferrari didn't make it easy for Mercedes as Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton ran first and third respectively in the opening exchanges.
Leclerc took the lead from fourth on the grid thanks to Ferrari's smaller turbo allowing for lightning starts off the line, with Hamilton jumping into the podium positions from seventh on lap one.
The Mercedes of Russell retook the lead on multiple occasions, but Leclerc was able to outsmart his rival and get back ahead with Hamilton also pressuring Russell from behind.

However, the Tifosi joy was quickly halted following the opening virtual safety car, with the Scuderia opting against following Mercedes into the pit.

Despite many criticising the strategy, Leclerc insisted Ferrari didn't have the pace to fight for the win, saying "I hold no regrets over the strategy.
"Mercedes showed they had very strong pace today, we fought hard, but in the end they were quicker."
However, Russell clearly didn't agree with the 28-year-old's verdict, calling Leclerc out during the cooldown room.
"You were NOT slow, you were not slow," Russell told Leclerc.
Leclerc smiled before referencing the huge margin Mercedes had over the rest of the field during qualifying, "Yeah but... Yesterday guys."
Russell quickly hit back, "I think you guys screwed up Q3, because no one really improved", which Leclerc gave no reply.
The Brit secured pole position with a gap of over eight tenths to the next non-Mercedes, with teammate Kimi Antonelli able to snatch second despite severely damaging the car during practice three.
Russell will be hoping to extend his championship lead this week in Shanghai, with the first sprint race of the season offering up an extra eight points that could be crucial by Abu Dhabi.
