A Formula 1 driver's family can afford to buy several Premier League teams in one go.

It is well-documented that F1 is one of the richest sports in the world, with substantial backing across the entire grid.

The drivers also earn huge money during a season, with Max Verstappen said to be the highest earner, making around $76 million per year.

Seven-time world title winner Lewis Hamilton is believed to make $70 million, with newly-crowned champion Lando Norris taking home $57 million.

The lowest earners on the 2026 grid are believed to be youngsters Arvid Lindblad, Gabriel Bortoleto and Oliver Bearman, who have a yearly wage of $2 million.

Meanwhile, Aston Martin's Lance Stroll is said to have an annual wage of $13 million.

However, Stroll's father, Lawrence, owns the Aston Martin team and reportedly has a net worth of around £2.9 billion, which his son could inherit in the future.

With such a huge net worth, the Stroll family could afford to purchase a few teams in the Premier League.

For example, according to The Athletic, the total value of Bournemouth, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Sunderland, Nottingham Forest, Brentford, Crystal Palace, Leeds United and Everton is around £2.9 billion, which is within Lawrence Stroll's reported net worth.

However, Lawrence will not be able to buy the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, who are all said to be worth over £2.9 billion.

Chelsea meanwhile have a reported value of around £2.5 billion to £2.7 billion.

Heading into the 2026 F1 season, Stroll will be looking to improve on his 16th-place finish.

With the arrival of Honda as the power unit supplier and Adrian Newey becoming more involved, Aston Martin are one of the dark horses for the new campaign.

The Silverstone-based team will launch their 2026 challenger, the AMR26, on February 9.
