F1 2026 Season Predicted by Supercomputer as Lando Norris Tipped to Lose Crown

Who will come out on top in 2026?

The 2025 Formula 1 season only ended last weekend, but all eyes are fully on 2026 already.

Last weekend, Lando Norris became the 11th British driver to win the F1 world title.

The 26-year-old Bristol-born star clinched his maiden championship after finishing third in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

As a result, Norris finished two points ahead of Max Verstappen to put a halt to the Dutchman's dominance.

Reflecting on his title win, Norris said: "I mean, it feels amazing, I now know what Max feels like. I want to congratulate Max and Oscar, my two biggest competitors the whole season.

"It's been a pleasure to race against both of them and an honour, I've learned a lot from both of them as well. I've enjoyed it, and it has been a long year, but we did it, and I'm so proud of everyone."

Looking ahead to 2026, F1 will look completely different with a new set of regulations designed to produce closer on-track battles.

Ahead of what promises to be a classic, a supercomputer has predicted next season's winner.

According to JeffBet's F1 Supercomputer, Mercedes star George Russell will win the 2026 world title.

It has been predicted that Russell will win the world title ahead of Verstappen by 15 points.

Meanwhile, newly-crowned world champion Norris will finish third, ahead of Kimi Antonelli.

In terms of the constructors' championship, Mercedes are the predicted winners ahead of McLaren and Red Bull.

Meanwhile, Adrian Newey is set to inspire Aston Martin to a fourth-place finish ahead of Ferrari, whose 2025 woes are predicted to worsen next year.

Lower down the grid, the supercomputer has predicted that F1 newcomers Cadillac will endure a tough season, with Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez scoring zero points.

What has George Russell said about the 2026 season?

Earlier in 2025, Russell admitted that Mercedes are confident ahead of the new campaign.

He said: "I mean, ordinarily, 2026 seems like a long time away, but in the world of Formula 1 it’s going to be here tomorrow, and the team are feeling really confident for this era.

"I think you know the experience the team have had, the success in 2014 with the new powertrain, and then obviously the time in Formula E, the work that was done with the [Mercedes-AMG ONE] Hypercar. There are a lot of individuals within HPP [Mercedes High Performance Powertrains] who have got so much experience with this future technology."

Russell continued: "I think that leaves us in a really great place to have a great engine. And the work [Mercedes fuel and lubricant partner] Petronas are doing on the fuel as well is looking really strong. So, on the engine side, I think we’re feeling very confident for that era."
