Darts fans left furious and demand answers over repeated Sky Sports error during Luke Littler vs Chris Dobey

Coverage of Littler vs Dobey was significantly affected.

Darts fans watching the Premier League have been left furious over Sky Sports' coverage.

A black screen appeared during coverage of the quarter-final clash between Luke Littler and Chris Dobey, before being replaced by an error message that apologised for a 'temporary fault'.

Sky were then forced to cut to a mid-match ad break before returning to the coverage.

But problems remained, and the screen would continue to flicker on several occasions during the remainder of the match, with coverage going off-air entirely at various points.

Fans took to Twitter to voice their fury over the issues affecting the coverage, with both video and audio impacted.

One wrote: "What is this darts coverage? Why does it keep crashing?"

A second said: "Sky Sports having an absolute meltdown for the coverage tonight."

A third added: "Sky Sports coverage has been awful tonight."

During the match, commentator Wayne Mardle apologised to fans by stating: "We apologise if you're experiencing some kind of malfunction or picture break-up. It will be fixed momentarily, I assure you."

After coverage of a Dobey checkout was impaired, Sky placed a white banner at the bottom of the screen which again apologised for the fault.

It is unclear whether the repeated faults were a Sky issue or related to the arena in Brighton, but they continued even beyond the end of the match, which Littler won 6-5.

Footage of the last leg was uploaded by the PDC and showed 'The Nuke' taking out a 110 checkout to win the match.

During the subsequent quarter-final between Luke Humphries and Rob Cross, Humphries hit a stunning nine-darter - with the technical issues thankfully waiting until after the leg finished before re-emerging.

Sky Sports presenter Emma Paton, who apologised on-air for the glitches, took to Twitter to write: "I really hope you all saw that!"
