Phil Taylor previously revealed how he would be willing to face Luke Littler in a darts match but only under certain conditions.
Currently, Littler is the face of darts and is already ranked as the world number one despite being just 18 years of age.
The teenager was previously crowned world champion at the age of 17, having also reached the final of the PDC World Darts Championship when he was still just 16 in 2024.
On Saturday evening (January 3), ‘The Nuke’ has the chance to become a two-time world champion and just the fourth player to retain the title alongside Taylor, Gary Anderson, and Adrian Lewis, if he beats Dutchman Gian van Veen in the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship final at Alexandra Palace.

But Taylor is by far the greatest darts player of all time and won 16 World Darts Championships – 14 PDC titles and two BDO titles – while also securing 16 World Matchplay titles and winning 100 televised finals before officially retiring in 2018.

Although he did briefly return to play on the World Seniors Tour until 2024, he then called time on an esteemed career.
Since then, Littler has dominated the sport and will likely continue to do so for decades to come.
So what would happen if Littler played against Taylor?
Due to the pair’s ages, we will never see them compete at their primes, but Taylor previously suggested that he and the teenager could take part in an exhibition match.
Speaking to talkSPORT in May of 2024, Taylor said: “No [I don't want to play him]. Not yet, I don't want to play him, to be quite honest with you.
"I'd play him in an exhibition, yeah. One leg of 301, I go first!"

But in a more recent interview with GB News, ‘The Power’ laughed off suggestions of a match and said: “No [I don’t want to play Littler]. Absolutely not.”
"What's that game where you got to push the blocks out? Jenga,” he added.
"He beat me at that! The little b******! He's a lovely lad, though."
Littler also weighed in with thoughts on how a match against Taylor could go and, in an interview with SPORTbible, admitted that it will likely happen “sooner rather than later”.
The teenager said: “If Taylor does start practising, then it will be tough, but if he just sits at home and then comes to an exhibition, then I fancy my chances."
