Luke Littler at risk of losing fortune after Dutch boycott stance as nightmare scenario unfolds

Luke Littler could lose out on a fortune after the PDC's 2027 tournament schedule was revealed.

On Friday (September 25), the PDC announced that a first-ever European Tour event in Lieven, France, will be held from March 19-21. The historic visit to France will follow European Tour events in Kiel, Krakow and Riesa, with the circuit also returning to established destinations across Germany, Austria, Czechia, Slovakia, Belgium, Switzerland, Hungary and the Netherlands during 2027.

The inaugural European Open will also take place in Salzburg from June 18-20, with a total of £1million in prize money at stake. For Luke Littler, it is another chance to pull further clear at the top of the PDC's order of merit, but the 19-year-old could yet miss out on a fortune.

Every event Luke Littler could miss in 2027 after Germany and Netherlands row

At the World Series of Darts Finals, Littler was left furious by the crowds who booed him in multiple matches in Amsterdam, notably in his 10-9 victory over close friend Nathan Aspinall when referee Charlie Corstorphine paused the match to tell the spectators to stop whistling.

'The Nuke' had previously initiated a boycott of events in Germany - including the German Darts Grand Prix in Munich - for similar issues with crowds, and he's since followed through with the same stance on events in the Netherlands.

After losing to Jonny Clayton in the quarter-finals of the tournament, the teenager withdrew from two Players Championships events in Den Bosch, while cancelling his registration for the Dutch Darts Championship, which takes place in Maastricht from 16 to 18 October.

Should his boycott extend into 2027, then the world No. 1 will potentially miss out on winning a fortune.

In total, there are seven European Tour events in Germany and one in the Netherlands, including the European Championship, a major tournament which has been expanded to 48 players and includes £1million in prize money.

For coming out victorious in the individual European Tour events, the winner receives £35,000, meaning Littler could miss out on a whopping £245,000 across the seven tournaments.

Add to that the £150,000 for winning the European Championship in Dortmund, and the teenager will deny himself the opportunity to win £395,000, should his boycott continue.

Ross Smith tells Luke Littler how to behave with the crowd

Littler soured his reputation with many spectators for his spat with Gian van Veen during their Premier League showdown in Manchester earlier this year.

'The Nuke' arguably got too involved with the crowd after performing a 'cry baby' gesture in front of them, and it's this sort of behaviour that Ross Smith thinks he needs to stamp out of his game, as it's causing a "problem".

"I think if you're aggressive towards the crowd and you're letting them know that it's affecting you and you're making them unhappy, it's not a good thing," World Series of Darts Final winner Smith said on the Love The Darts podcast.

"I tried to, with Gian [van Veen], I had more banter with them, you know what I mean? Just like thumbs up to them, but smiling, not in an aggressive way and they sort of laugh with you, it's not a problem.

"I think it's how you can react on stage, if you're aggressive towards them, it's going to create problems for you. But like I said, I can't really comment on Luke because I wasn't playing in the games with Luke and I don't know what he actually went through, but they can be brutal at times."

Littler is next in action at the World Grand Prix in Leicester, beginning the tournament with a clash against Luke Woodhouse on Monday (September 28).
