Humphries is the only the fourth player to win the World Grand Prix more than once and this victory was one that he very much needed.
He told Sky Sports: "It's kind of like I needed this to give me a bit of confidence. It's been a torrid 15 or 18 months, losing so many major finals. I felt like I had not much to give tonight. It was all about a moment where I felt I don't want to lose 6-0. Gezzy was amazing for those first three legs, absolutely insane. He is going to win a major title soon. It's just written in the starts for him.
"I don't feel like I was the best player. Sometimes the player that deserves to win doesn't.

Reflecting on the loss, Price told Sky Sports: "Luke played brilliantly in the middle of the game but I still squandered so many opportunities. 3-0 up, then he's 4-3 up, I make it 4-4 then miss doubles. I missed too many opportunities. I felt it was a fantastic game and it was whoever took the opportunities. I missed quite a few at crucial times.
"Gutted I lost another one but I'll move on.
"I don't care. I'm enjoying darts, I'm enjoying life. Luke's a great player. I'm earning a great living, I've got the best family. I don't mind."
