Luke Humphries responds to darts fan who says he’s ‘finished’ and past his best after being hammered by Luke Littler

Luke Humphries responded to a darts fan after losing to Luke Littler in the Premier League.

Luke Humphries has hit out at a darts fan who said he was 'finished' following his crushing defeat to Luke Littler in the 2025 Premier League Darts.

Littler cruised to a 6-1 victory over Humphries in the final of Night Eight in Newcastle last Thursday, with fans demanding a major rule change following the 18-year-old's victory over Stephen Bunting.

'The Nuke' moved eight points clear of second-placed Humphries, who has two nightly wins to his name this season.

The world No.1 had beaten Chris Dobey and Rob Cross before succumbing to Littler in the final.

Humphries has never won the Premier League but triumphed in the 2024 World Darts Championship when he beat Littler in the final.

He also has a World Matchplay title in his trophy cabinet.

Despite his recent success, a darts fan on social media claimed Humphries' 'prime' has 'truly been and gone'.

"Humphries prime has truly been and gone, when he loses world number 1 spot reckon we're gonna see him slowly but gradually fall down the rankings," a user wrote in a group called 'All things Darts' on Facebook.

The comment sparked backlash from people within the group and was even noticed by Humphries, who fired back.

He wrote: "I’ve literally won two of the last four majors you wally! A couple of bad weeks don’t define you. Remember, this happened last year at the start of the year, and look how it ended."

Humphries' defiant response received mixed reactions, with some people praising him for standing his ground while others argued a top professional should not be engaging in online debates.

After beating Humphries in the final, Littler admitted he felt tired before his clash and suggested his opponent was also fatigued.

He told Sky Sports: "I said to Luke there, I don't know how we played that game, we were both tired, but that's what happens when you have to play three games in a night, you can get tired, but I'm just glad that I dug myself over the line."
