The microphones during Joe Cullen's latest match against Mensur Suljovic picked up a quiet comment referencing their controversial claims made after their last meeting.

During the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship in December, Cullen was eliminated after he lost 3-1 to Austria's Suljovic in the second round.

Cullen was clearly frustrated with his opponent's actions during the match as he was seen complaining to referee Kirk Bevins about the time that the 53-year-old was taking to retrieve his darts.

Following the match Cullen took to social media to further express his anger, labelling Suljovic's behaviour as 'cheating' and claiming that it wasn't true darts.

And in their first meeting since the controversial post-match comments, the microphones picked up a quiet comment from Cullen referencing their meeting in the Ally Pally back in December.

For the first time since their heated clash, Cullen and Suljovic faced each other again on Tuesday afternoon at Players Championship 2.

Unfortunately for Cullen, the result of the match was largely the same as the Austrian came away as the victor with an impressive display that saw him win 6-2 against the Englishman.

Thankfully, it appears that the pair were a lot more friendly post-match, as Cullen could be heard joking about his reaction to their last encounter.

“You can play normal can’t you, see. You can play normal," Cullen laughed.

The comment referenced Cullen's claims that Suljovic's actions during their World Championship meeting was against the sport of darts.

Posting on X, 'The Rockstar' wrote: "If that’s darts, I don’t want no part of it!

"Always liked Mensur away from the board but that was plain for all to see!

"I don’t think I’m alone in feeling this way. The old guard will say it’s part of the game but word it how you will - it’s CHEATING! That’s not darts."

Suljovic's performance on Tuesday saw him pick up three 15-darters and two 14-darters, finishing with an average just over 101.

Therefore, it's clear that Cullen was happy to lose to the better man on the day, with their exchange quickly being met with a positive reaction from fans on social media, prompting a further response from Cullen himself.

Sharing a clip of the moment on X, Cullen added: "This made me smile….. always liked Mensur and the game was played how it should be played! Mensur was brilliant and deserved the win."

Unfortunately, Suljovic went on to lose his next match to world no.20 Rob Cross, with the scoreline being 6-2 in favour of the Englishman.
