Gary Anderson didn't hold back in a post-match rant lashing out at influencers playing darts.
The 2026 Winmau World Masters darts tournament got underway on Thursday night at Arena MK, with several of the biggest names in darts set to compete over the weekend.
The world's top 24 automatically qualified for the 32-player event, with the remaining eight spots decided by a preliminary qualifier event.
World No. 6 Anderson got his competition off to the perfect start on Thursday as he picked up a win over Niels Zonneveld, securing a spot in the second round, where he'll face England's James Wade.

But, despite picking up the win, Anderson clearly wasn't happy after the win over Zonneveld as he launched into a passionate and typically blunt rant about YouTubers covering darts.

Following darts' rise in popularity in recent years, several major YouTube stars and other influencers have started getting involved in the sport, including the likes of Ethan Payne (Behzinga) from the Sidemen
Throughout his campaign to winning his second consecutive title at the PDC World Darts Championship in January, world no.1 Luke Littler was accompanied by popular livestreamer and I'm a Celeb star AngryGinge.
However, Anderson isn't a fan of influencers being involved in darts, an opinion he made abundantly clear after his win at the World Masters.
“I don’t do YouTube, but I’m watching — what do you call them? Influencers,” Anderson said post-match.
“How to play darts, I’ve never seen the bloke in my life. I’ve watched him play darts and he’s absolutely ****, so why watch him?
Anderson's comments come as darts prices have risen massively in recent months as brands take advantage of the increase in viewership thanks to the rise of Littler and the involvement of the likes of Ginge.
“Kids need to learn that you can go buy a set of darts — it costs you 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 quid. It’s time to stop spending hundreds of pounds on darts and just play the game," he added.
Doubling down on his attack on influencer, the Scotsman decided stuck up two fingers and said: “There’s my influencers — what a load of ****. Absolute tossers.
"How many times have you watched boys on YouTube, they look like a pro — who is he? For young kids, it ain’t good. Just let them play darts and enjoy it. Buy a £20 set of darts and enjoy your game of darts. End of. Easy.”
