Riyad Mahrez is reportedly close to signing a new contract at Manchester City.

The 31 year-old is set to become the latest member of Pep Guardiola's squad to commit their long-term future to the club.

Mahrez, who signed from Leicester City in a £60 million deal in 2018, has made 189 appearances and won eight trophies with the Sky Blues, including three Premier League titles.

The Algerian scored 24 goals last campaign, finishing as City's top goalscorer for the second successive season.

Mahrez has also played an integral role for Guardiola in Europe, scoring key goals against Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint Germain to help the Blues to a maiden Champions League Final last year.

The skilful winger has scored 63 goals for the Blues and won three Premier League titles, three Carabao Cup's, an FA Cup and the FA Community Shield since moving from the Midlands to Manchester.

Mahrez is now set to further extend his stay at the Etihad Stadium, with The Athletic reporting that the 31 year-old is close to signing a new deal with the Premier League Champions.

Sam Lee and Pol Ballus write that the Algerian's new contract is 'very near' to completion and will be announced in the next 48 hours.

Mahrez made 47 appearances for City last season and follows midfielder Rodri, who this week penned a new deal until 2027.

Earlier this week L'Equipe reported that the 31 year-old forward would sign a three-year extension.

The French outlet claimed that 'discussions are about to conclude' surrounding a new three-year deal for Mahrez, given his current contract was set to expire in 2023.

Several members of Pep Guardiola's title winning side have extended their contracts in the past 12 months; including Ruben Dias, Joao Cancelo, Kevin De Bruyne and Ederson.

Meanwhile, Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez, Kalvin Phillips and Stefan Ortega have been added the Blues' squad ahead of the new campaign.

Mahrez's new deal will also likely fend off any interest in the winger, with Paris Saint Germain and Juventus both known to have had admired the 31 year-old.

As well as Mahrez and Rodri, Manchester City are widely reported to be offering Phil Foden new terms.

The 22 year-old is claimed to be signing a new six-year deal worth £200,000 a week.
