Manchester City have announced their 21-man travelling squad to face Borussia Dortmund on matchday five of the Champions League group stage on Tuesday night.

Pep Guardiola's men will be looking to kick on from a successful weekend of action, as they battled past an impressive Brighton outfit in a 3-1 win on Saturday afternoon.

Sitting in second place in the Premier League table ahead of the trip to Germany, the reigning English top-flight champions have lost just one game all campaign, moving deeper into a tight schedule that also sees them go toe to toe with the likes of Chelsea, Sevilla and Leicester City across three competitions in the coming weeks.

Manchester City succumbed to a frustrating 0-0 draw in their last European outing, as VAR and officiating drama held them in the Danish capital against Copenhagen.

That result had no impact on their hopes of qualifying for the knock-out stages of the competition however, as results elsewhere ensured City progressed to the next stage of the tournament that gets underway in 2023.

Erling Haaland also got back to his usual goalscoring ways at the weekend, after failing to notch against Liverpool in the Premier League.

The Norway international was replaced in the second-half against Southampton, after scoring a brace to put City into a strong lead against Brighton at half-time.

Kevin De Bruyne completed a trio of goals for the reigning top-flight champions, with a sublime strike from distance.

Ahead of the clash at the Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday night, Manchester City put together their final preparations over in East Manchester, with Pep Guardiola's squad looking in a strong place in regards to fitness issues.

Despite a knock late on in the win over Brighton, Aymeric Laporte trained as normal with his City teammates.

John Stones also continued his training this week, as the England international looks to develop his fitness after a period of time out with a hamstring problem.

There was also encouragement regarding Kalvin Phillips, as the summer signing underwent a session of individual training away from the main first-team group session, but he is not at the stage where he can feature for City just yet.
