Manchester City confirm 21-man travelling squad to face Copenhagen in Champions League group stage clash

A 21-man travelling squad will take on Copenhagen in Denmark this week, as Manchester City look to book their place in the knock-out stage.

Manchester City have announced their 21-man travelling squad to face Copenhagen on matchday four of the Champions League group stage on Tuesday evening.

Pep Guardiola's men will be looking to kick on from yet another successful weekend of action, as they cruised past Southampton in a 4-0 win on Saturday afternoon.

Sitting in second place in the Premier League table ahead of the trip to Denmark, the reigning English top-flight champions remain unbeaten this season ahead of a tight schedule that also sees them go toe to toe with Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund in the coming weeks.

Manchester City secured a comfortable 5-0 win in their last European outing, which also came against Copenhagen but at the Etihad Stadium last week.

An Erling Haaland brace put the game beyond any doubt in the first-half, while an own goal secured the Danish side's misery.

The Norway international was replaced at half-time in search of rest, but the goals kept on flowing.

Julian Alvarez and Riyad Mahrez added to the scoreline in a second-half that also saw appearances for some of Pep Guardiola's brightest academy prospects in Rico Lewis, Josh Wilson-Esbrand, and Cole Palmer.

Ahead of the clash at Parken in the Danish capital on Tuesday evening, Manchester City put together their final preparations over in East Manchester, with a number of notable absentees.

A trio of England international players played no involvement in the open session at the City Football Academy.

Kalvin Phillips and Kyle Walker both continue their recovery from surgery, as the pair face a race against time to be in contention with a place on England's plane for the Qatar World Cup next month.

John Stones was described as "getting better" by Pep Guardiola over the weekend, but the centre-back was also absent from training on Monday.

A total of 21 outfield players were spotted in first-team training on Monday morning, with the full list available above.

Here is Manchester City's confirmed 21-man travelling squad for their fourth Champions League group-stage tie of the season.
