"Hopefully We Can!" - Jack Grealish Outlines Manchester City Targets For Next Season

"Hopefully We Can!" - Jack Grealish Outlines Manchester City Targets For Next Season

Manchester City's Jack Grealish has challenged his side to kick on from Premier League glory by pursuing more silverware next season.

Manchester City star Jack Grealish is keen to kick from a league-winning debut campaign at the Etihad Stadium by challenging on all fronts next season.

The 26-year-old signed for the Premier League champions last summer for a British-record fee after rising as England's best players since Aston Villa's promotion to the top-flight in 2019.

Whilst being rotated regularly by Pep Guardiola in his first season in Manchester, Grealish finished his debut campaign by winning the Premier League and helping his side retain their crown for the second time under the Catalan manager.

However, City's shortcomings in the Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup last term have seen the club make big moves in the transfer market to go and compete on all fronts next season, with further additions to be made as club chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak confirmed in his end-of-season interview.

The Blues have already secured the arrivals of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, with Gabriel Jesus heavily linked with an exit and uncertainty looming over Raheem Sterling's future as the attacking pair enter the final 12 months remaining on their current contracts at the Etihad Stadium.

The current group of Manchester City players are excited with the club's plans for the summer as they look to bolster their squad to kick on from a fourth Premier League title in five seasons.

Speaking at McDonald's Fun Football's launch event this weekend, a scheme encouraging kids aged 5-11 across the UK to enjoy their sessions for free, Jack Grealish said: "A lot of things excite me about next season - number one being that I just want to keep on improving myself."

"I want to win more, which I am sure we will - and I hope we do. What would success be? Personally, I want to score more goals and create more assists and try to cement my place in the team too."

Despite registering 10 direct goal contributions for Manchester City across all competitions last season, Grealish was often criticised for his end product and inability to make the difference for his side though it is well known how time helps new arrivals adapt to Pep Guardiola's demands and style of play.

The Birmingham-born forward added: "As a team, I think success would be to win more than one trophy. Of course, it was amazing to win the Premier League this year."

"But what we (Manchester City) want to do now is win as many trophies as possible next season. Hopefully we can. And, of course, the World Cup too!"

Manchester City are also understood to be keen on signing Leeds' Kalvin Phillips and Brighton full-back Marc Cucurella and will be an even scarier proposition for the rest of the division if they managed to get both deals over the line ahead of the upcoming campaign.
