Andy Ruiz Jr looks in incredible shape ahead of his return fight on May 1.

In less than two weeks, 'The Destroyer' will be back in the ring for the first time since December 2019 when he takes on Chris Arreola.at Dignity Health Sports Park, in Carson, California.

And the Mexican fighter will be leaner than ever for the headline bout after losing a whopping 26lbs (nearly two stone).

When he lost his IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles back toAnthony Joshua in his very first defence in Saudi Arabia, Ruiz had ballooned to 283lbs and admitted not following his diet properly and partying too much after the shock triumph.

But the former world champion now says he is now at 257lbs and expects to be at 255lbs - even less than the 268lbs he weighed in at for his sensational win over ;'AJ' at Madison Square Garden in June 2019 - on fight night.

Fox have published a graphic showing Ruiz's remarkable transformation.and you can't help but impressed by the condition the 31-year-old is in.

He has been training out of San Diego, California, with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez's coach Eddy Reynoso - and the results are there for all to see.

"I'm not where I want to be at, but I'm better than where I was at," Ruiz told Fighthype, as per boxingnews24.com.

"We're in a better place, and we're ready to rock and roll.

"Right now, I'm 257 for sure. I ate some tacos yesterday, so I'm okay. We still got two weeks. My weight goal is to be at 255 for the Arreola fight on May 1st, but I gotta keep going.

"Staying disciplined, staying in the gym every day. It's helping me a lot. I wish I had done this a long time ago.

"I feel my mentality would have been so different."
