John Fury, the larger-than-life patriarch of the Fury boxing family, has been praised for his 'most mature interview' amid ongoing tension with one of his sons.
John has previously discussed his feud with Tyson, stating that their relationship has been 'completely destroyed' by boxing and speaking openly about junior's abilities at 37.
But in an interview with former fighter Tony Bellew and Fight Your Corner, John explained that his motivation is always the wellbeing of his son.
"This is where me and Tyson clash because I've got to deal with his mother and many a time she's said to me, 'You're not the man I thought you was. You're letting him do exactly as he wants to do. You've got the power to stop him,'" revealed Fury Sr.

"What do you do? Make him unhappy? I stopped him last time. It was like somebody had died in his house."
Asked whether he had any concerns about Tyson after his upcoming fight against Anthony Joshua, which has been his focus since his latest comeback materialised, John acknowledged that the Gypsy King is happiest when he has training and the gym to occupy his mind, and admitted that he's not sure what to expect.
"There's always a worry with him," said the 61-year-old. "Mental health's a serious, serious thing and Tyson is a sufferer more than anyone thinks.
"I live with him. See him every day. I know what he goes through. And without the boxing and the gym, he melts, and he does stuff [that] nobody else would even entertain doing.
"It's heartbreaking. You can see a demise there, a slippery slope."
Big John's hope is that Tyson stays involved. He wants his son to give back to the sport that made him, dedicating time to activities like training the next generation.
'A brilliant mind!'
After the bluster in the aftermath of Tommy Fury's win against Eddie Hall in Manchester a week ago, John's straight-shooting interview has drawn praise from fans.
"See when John talks boxing and not about himself, he’s actually a really good listen with a lot of knowledge," commented one viewer.
"Seems like a good bloke when he’s talking in this environment. He needs to stop calling people out and punching walls," said another, while a third noted that: "This is the real John Fury here! Smart, down to earth and a brilliant mind!"
