Conor McGregor Shuts Down Talk Of Jake Paul Fight With Brutal Dig At The American

Paul is keen to face former UFC champion McGregor in the ring.

Conor McGregor has no interest in fighting Jake Paul after describing the YouTuber-turned-boxer as a "flop" and a "nobody".

Paul, 25, has repeatedly called out McGregor, 33, for a money-spinning boxing match and he reiterated his intention to face the former UFC champion during a recent interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour.

However, McGregor has dismissed Paul's latest attempt to set up a fight.

Responding to a video of the Paul's interview on Twitter, McGregor replied: "You’ve 2 fights and done 70k buys," alongside the crying-laughing emoji.

He later added: "You are a flop, kid. A nobody."

Nevertheless, Paul believes it is an inevitability he will face McGregor at some point on the future.

He said: "I think for me, fighting a couple more times, continuing to knock some people out, and he has to get active again, who knows when that's gonna happen?

"I think those two things need to happen, and then at some point, it's gotta happen.

"You know, why not? He's a businessman, I'm a businessman, and that's $75m to $100m for both of us."

Paul will make his return to the ring next month when he faces sparring partner Hasim Rahman Jr at Madison Square Garden on August 6.

He was originally due to face Tommy Fury but the British fighter was forced to withdraw from the bout after being denied entry to the United States.

McGregor, meanwhile, has not fought since last July when he suffered a broken leg in his defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264.

He has ramped up his training in recent weeks as he continues to prepare for his long-awaited return to the octagon, with his next opponent yet to be announced.

McGregor has fought just once professionally in the boxing ring, losing via a 10th round stoppage to all-time great Floyd Mayweather back in 2017.
