Floyd Mayweather Stops Conor McGregor In The 10th Round

Following months of build-up, which included a wild press tour, the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor is officially in the books.

The pair of superstars in their respective sports topped the bill from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, with thousands of Irish fans flocking to Sin City.

Mayweather was making his first appearance inside the squared circle since 2015 after ending his short-lived retirement.

He out-pointed Andre Berto to rack up his 49th professional victory, which preceded the mega-fight against Manny Pacquiao.

While his eagerly awaited bout against Pacquiao broke pay-per-view records, the bout with McGregor is projected to surpass the numbers generated from the 2015 match-up.

After recording UFC history by becoming the very first fighter in the promotion to hold two titles in two divisions, simultaneously, McGregor opted to swap the four oz MMA gloves for boxing gloves.

The Irishman dethroned UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez last November at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, to bag his second world title under the Zuffa banner.

UFC president Dana White is hopeful McGregor will return to the MMA leaders with a December bout muted.

Meanwhile, earlier in the card 'Money Team' member Badou Jack dethroned Nathan Cleverly to claim the WBA light-heavyweight world title, stopping the Welshman in the fifth round.

And Mayweather protege Gervonta Davis continued his ascent as he defeated Franciso Fonseca in bizarre fashion, while losing his world title in the process after failing to make weight.
