A finance expert has played down suggestions that Tyson Fury is coming out of retirement for a payday by posting a screenshot of his newly-filed accounts.
The self-proclaimed 'Gypsy King' announced his retirement from boxing in January following a second defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, as he confessed to being "happy" and "content" with what he'd achieved in the sport.
But earlier this week – at the IBA press conference in Istanbul – the former lineal and WBC heavyweight champion confirmed he is open to making a comeback, just months after calling time on his career.
"If I was gonna come back, I’d come back for Usyk," the 36-year-old said. “But I want a fair result in England. That’d be the one I want, immediately. That’d be the fight that I’d want next."
Fury has also welcomed an all-British showdown with Anthony Joshua, adding: "That's the one I want [Usyk], but if I don't get that then it will be (Anthony) Joshua, the biggest British boxing fight that will ever happen."
Shortly after Fury made the comments, Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh confirmed the 36-year-old's return as he seemingly referenced a trilogy bout against the undefeated Usyk in Riyadh.
He wrote on X, formerly Twitter: "The 'Gypsy King' will be back!!! I talked with him, and I have his word to have him in Riyadh Season in 2026. We have a rabbit to hunt."
Earlier this week, Fury's fortune was revealed as Tyson Fury Limited reported a £79 million profit between September 2023 and last September. In fact, his private company has overall assets of over £160 million.
Amid suggestions he was making a comeback for some extra cash, finance expert Kieran Maguire gave an insight into his accounts.
"Anyone thinking Tyson Fury is coming out of retirement because he needs the money is very, very wrong," said Maguire on X.
"His accounts that were submitted a couple of days ago show he’s the most successful UK sportsman in history financially, with £184 million in cash & investments."

"I call him regularly and he said: 'Oh I'm so happy, retired, I'm here with my wife.' He didn't hint whatsoever that he was planning on coming back," said Sulaiman.
"He told me he was not happy with the decision in the second fight with Usyk. He's still very bitter about the judges' scoring and he was very upset but he was retired, that's what he said."
Tyson Fury appears to play down potential bout against another fighter
Fury welcomed a match-up against Usyk or Joshua, but was far from enthralled by the idea of facing IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois.
"If I did come back, hypothetically speaking, if I was to return and box Daniel Dubois, he wouldn't land a glove on me, it would be a one-sided beat-down," he said.
"I wish him luck in his fight against Usyk, but styles make fights and his style and my style don't gel. I would annihilate him."
