Jake Paul has got fans talking with an Instagram post following his defeat against Anthony Joshua.
Despite effectively avoiding Joshua at all costs for the first four rounds of the pair’s heavyweight contest in Miami on Friday (December 19), Paul was eventually hurt in round five, during which he was floored twice.
Then in round six, former two-time unified heavyweight world champion and 2012 Olympic gold medallist Joshua landed a brutal right-hand, which stunned Paul, who could not beat the referee’s count.
‘AJ’ improved his record to 29-4 while ‘The Problem Child’ is now 12-2, with his other previous defeat coming against Tommy Fury in 2023.

Following the fight, the 28-year-old American posted an X-ray to social media showing that he suffered a double jaw break, which will likely keep him out of the ring for some time.

And despite earlier claiming he was going to take a break from the sport after “going hard for six years”, Paul still teased a clash with former world title holder Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.
However, it has since emerged that Paul had two titanium plates fitted and some teeth removed after the fight, meaning he has to “have only liquids for seven days” while he recovers.
But this did not stop Paul, who reportedly pocketed up to $90 million for the fight, from showing off his lavish lifestyle in an Instagram post on Sunday (December 21).
The YouTuber-turned-boxer posted a photograph of himself on what appeared to be a private jet alongside hundreds of wads of cash, Louis Vuitton bags, and several guns, accompanied by the caption: “The American Dream. Start yours today. Believe in it. Fail. Work. Fail. Learn. Fail. Don’t ever stop.”
Fans were quick to offer their thoughts on social media.
One said: “Proud of you, bro! You lost the fight, but still Got The W cause You Winning In Life ! Continue to inspire millions.”
Another added: “Congratulations with the people love you or not - you’re living your life. Get well soon.”
A third claimed: “Just 1 of those stacks can change someone’s life. Think of all the impact Jake’s gonna have. This isn’t a rich kid; he’s an epicentre for good. Literally created a massive industry that’s helped so many people.”
It is unclear when Paul will next step in the ring, while Joshua has been heavily linked with an all-British showdown against Tyson Fury in 2026.
