Newcastle United Fans Are Already Claiming Kylian Mbappe, Cristiano Ronaldo And Lionel Messi As Their Own

Signed, sealed, delivered.

Former owner Mike Ashley has officially sold Newcastle United to a Saudi Arabia-backed consortium with an estimated worth of £320 billion.

Similar to what we've seen with the likes of Manchester City and PSG, when a cashed-up ownership group of that magnitude walks through the front doors of your club, a bunch of big-money signings normally follow.

And Newcastle fans have wasted no time in speculating which megastar will jump ship and join the Toon.

Before news even broke of the long-awaited Saudi takeover, Magpies die-hards were already spitting out some hilarious memes of who they'd like to see in the famous black and white striped jersey.

Scouring through social media, some of the content that the internet sleuths have churned out is pure genius.

The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland have all been photoshopped into a Newcastle kit - albeit rather poorly in some of the memes.

But one name has been mentioned on social media way more than the rest: Kylian Mbappe.

The PSG forward has expressed interest in exploring other options away from the French capital in the past.

With talent - and a World Cup-winning resume - as impressive as his, it's easy to see why cashed-up Magpies supporters are keen to see Mbappe down at St James' Park every other weekend.

Unsurprisingly, fans flocked to social media, calling for the club's Saudi owners to splash the cash and buy him.

The takeover is still in its early stages, so Newcastle supporters will have wait patiently to see which players on their wish lists end up signing.

Either way, some of the stuff posted online over the past 24 hours has been nothing short of spectacular...
