Daniel Ricciardo isn't just handy behind the wheel of a 300 km/h car, he's actually not too shabby on the golf course as well.

The Aussie Formula 1 driver, who recently broke his two-year podium drought, is keeping himself busy between races by having the odd round of golf.

And it turns out he's not too bad either.

And after sinking a 50-foot putt ahead of the Portuguese Grand Prix, Ricciardo now wants to be known as 'Gilmore Happy' - a clear nod to the fan favourite Adam Sandler film from 1996.

The 31-year-old, who will be leaving Renault to join McLaren at the end of the F1 season, took to social media to share his putting skills.

Ricciardo posted a video on Instagram with the caption: "I'd like to go by Gilmore Happy this weekend please."

In the clip, you can see the smiling Aussie sink the putt with relative ease before skipping around the golf course in celebration.

The video already has over half a million views.

And Ricciardo's 3.7million Instagram followers were loving it too.

Australian UFC featherweight champ Alexander Volkanovski commented: "Hahaha nailed it!!"

While the Renault F1 team's official Instagram account replied: "No probs Happy. See you in the morning."

But one fan's comment stood out from the rest.

"Lando vs Daniel. When?"

The two drivers already banter each other enough, just imagine what they'd be like on the golf course.
