Usain Bolt makes stunning revelation about his career and the Olympics as podcast host left gobsmacked

The Olympic legend made a shocking admission about the end of his career.

Usain Bolt has made a shocking admission about the end of his career that left an interviewer lost for words.

It's now been eight years since Bolt called it time on his storied career and officially retired from competing in track and field after the 2017 World Championships.

Despite this, the Jamaican still boasts the world records in the men's 100m and 200m races, with times of 9.58 seconds and 19.19 seconds, respectively, and is viewed by many as one of the greatest athletes of all time.

But, in a recent interview reflecting on his career, Bolt made one admission about the end of his time on track and it left the podcast host absolutely stunned.

After winning eight Olympic gold medals and 11 World Championships golds, Bolt hung up his running shoes in 2017, at the age of 30.

At the time he said that he would never return to racing, but he has now admitted that he wished he had stayed in the game longer.

Speaking on the Go Wild Podcast, Bolt said "I used to complain when I used to travel a lot when I used to do track and field, but I do miss it. I do miss the competitions and going to the meets, competing.

"I don't miss the training but I do miss the competition and the World Championships.

"If I'd known, it's not like I'm not enjoying the time, but I'd have probably gone four more years and say, you know what? Le't try for Tokyo.

"But because I dominated so much, I was like 'Oh i don't need to go,' but I knew I was going to miss it so much I'd say, 'let's go four more years.'"

Bolt has previously admitted that he considered coming out of retirement in 2019 for the Tokyo Olympics, but decided not to after his coach told him he wouldn't go with him.

Four years later, Bolt also decided not to go to the Paris Olympics, this time solely as a fan, because he didn't want to be seen on crutches after he ruptured his Achilles while playing a charity football match.
