TikToker changed their location to the Olympic village on Tinder and the results were incredible

With the Olympics known for athletes hooking up, one TikTok star enlisted the help of Tinder to see what was going on.

The Olympic games is renowned for being a hotspot for hooking up and a TikToker carried out an experiment by changing his location to the village.

The event, which takes place every four years and sees many of the fittest and most athletic people in the world houses in the same quarters for a couple of weeks.

With the amount of testosterone and endorphins floating about, it's not exactly a secret that plenty of action occurs in between the sheets during the Olympics - even with the specially designed cardboard beds which are supposed to make it harder to have intercourse.

And it appears as though other alternatives are available, with former US goalkeeper Hope Solo claiming she saw people having sex "right out in the open" - including "on the grass" and "between buildings".

Since 1988, condoms have been handed out to athletes at the Olympic village and it was reported that 300,000 were given out for the 2024 iteration.

In the delayed 2021 Games in Tokyo, with the app appearing to be a popular way to hook up, TikToker Reed Kavner decided to set his Tinder Plus location to the Olympic village where athletes were staying.

The video amassed more than two million views and Kavner shared the athletes who came up on his Tinder - highlighting the likes of New Zealand canoeist Lisa Carrington, Canadian swimmer Katerine Savard and Estonian biathlete Grete Gaim.

However, other people not in the village followed Kavner's lead and that created an issue.

He said: "Last night I made a TikTok about changing my Tinder location to put myself in the Olympic Village so that I can fall in love with an Olympian (medalists preferred).

"It got 2M views overnight, which is fun, but now Olympic Village Tinder is flooded with non-Olympians."

Three years later, an actual Olympian in the village made a TikTok on their experience on Tinder while in the village but she had a very different reality.

Hoping some single athletes would be ready to mingle, she changed her geolocation on the app but did not have much luck at all.

"I'm in the Olympic Village right now and so far most things have exceeded my expectations," Emily Delleman, who made her Olympics debut in Paris, as part of US women's quadruple scull team said.

"The food, the vibe, the atmosphere... it's crazy. Everything but this... The other day I was lying on my cardboard bed, recovering like it's my job, because it is.

"And I was browsing TikTok and I saw girls saying "hey, change your geolocation to the Olympic Village, you want some first division 'babies'?" and I was like "oh my god, genius. "You need to make the most of this like you did when you were in Rome.

"So I start sailing and I don't see any Olympic athletes.

"I thought okay, my setup must be weird. No. I'm within a mile radius and so far I think I've seen a total of two other Olympic athletes."
