Arsenal have completed the signing of Sao Paulo winger Marquinhos, it has been reported.

The club's struck a deal hitting around the £3 million mark for the Brazilian teenager, who has signed a deal until June 2027.

It was previously reported that Wolves would make the deal harder to complete as they had reportedly signed a pre-agreement with the player, however these obstacles appear to have subsided and Arsenal have now completed the deal.

Fabrizio Romano, respected football journalist, reported the news this morning.

It's yet to be seen if Marquinhos will provide competition for the likes of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli out wide for Arsenal or if he will be sent back out on loan.

Mikel Arteta’s side was smited by its own inexperience and youthfulness last season, so adding more youth into the mix may one eye on the future rather than focusing on immediate impact.

However, when the Gunners signed new no.11 Martinelli from Ituano, similar claims were made, so writing off Marquinhos making an immediate impact would be premature.

The 19 year old adds to Arsenal's growing Brazilian influence at the club, with Martinelli and Gabriel firm fixtures at the Emirates, and the reported incoming of Gabriel Jesus, the Samba take over of London Colney is in full effect.

Arsenal will now hope to wrap up deals for the likes of Jesus and Youri Tielemans, with the latter appearing easier to sign. Edu and Arteta have both already admitted that the Gunners will be busy in the transfer window.
