Raheem Sterling Makes Salary Demand If He Is To Join Chelsea From Man City

Raheem Sterling Makes Salary Demand If He Is To Join Chelsea From Man City

Chelsea have learned of Raheem Sterling’s salary demands as the Blues wish to bring the Manchester City star to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Chelsea have learned of Raheem Sterling’s salary demands as the Blues wish to bring the Manchester City star to Stamford Bridge this summer, according to reports.

The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Thomas Tuchel’s side as they look for reinforcements in attack.

The winger has recently negotiated a deal to sell his house in Cheshire to Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold as he looks set to return to London amid Chelsea’s interest.

He is expected to sign a four-year contract which will see him potentially become Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital’s first signing as Chelsea owners.

Tuchel is set to be handed up to £200 million to make additions to his squad and will push on for other targets when Sterling arrives.

His Manchester City teammate Nathan Ake has been heavily linked with a return to Chelsea, having left back in 2017 to join Bournemouth.

It remains to be seen as to whether the Blues can negotiate a double swoop for the Man City pair or if they will look for alternative defensive targets once Sterling is brought in.

As reported by Sky Sports, Chelsea have now learned of Sterling’s salary demands if he is to move to Stamford Bridge.

The report states that the Blues are in advanced talks over a move for the winger, but a deal will be decided on whether he can agree personal terms with the club.

He is expecting to earn more than he does currently at the Etihad, keeping with his status as one of the biggest attacking talents in the Premier League.

City are willing to let him leave if an acceptable bid is made, with one-year left on his current contract.

The 27-year-old has already held talks with Tuchel over his role and been assured that he will be a key player if he is to complete the move to London.

The Blues reportedly wish to wrap up a deal by the end of week before heading to the USA for their pre-season tour.

Oleksandr Zinchenko is also of interest but it remains to be seen whether Man City would be willing to let any more of their players depart for Chelsea this summer.

The Blues are looking to close the gap to Pep Guardiola’s side as Tuchel wishes to compete at the top of the Premier League.

It remains to be seen as to whether a fee will be agreed with City and Sterling will find himself playing for the Blues next season as they learned his salary demands.

Raphinha of Leeds United was also heavily linked, with Jesse Marsch's side accepting a £55 million bid from Chelsea.

However, he appears to be holding out for a move to Barcelona as Chelsea identify alternative targets.
