Preview: Brighton vs Chelsea - Graham Potter faces former side as 10 game unbeaten streak eyed

Chelsea continue their away travels with a trip to the south coast to face Brighton.

Chelsea travel to the Amex Stadium on Saturday afternoon to face Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.

Graham Potter comes up against his former side who he left last month to take the job at Stamford Bridge to replace Thomas Tuchel. He will be joined on the touchline by his successor, Roberto De Zerbi, down on the south coast.

Chelsea currently occupy fifth place in the Premier League. They sit level on points with Newcastle United but have a game in hand over the Magpies as they compete for a top four spot.

Potter is yet to lose as Chelsea head coach, winning six and drawing three. Meanwhile, Brighton linger down in ninth and haven’t won in their last five matches (D2, L3). During that run, they have faced Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Potter insists there is added pressure for either side to get a win on Saturday as he returns to Brighton for the first time since leaving.

"We all want to win the game. We play to win. The difference is luck. We've won our games, picked up points with some luck. Brighton haven't had much luck. Both want to win, it's going to be a good game."

Chelsea will continue to have Wesley Fofana, Reece James, N'Golo Kante and Kalidou Koulibaly sidelined, while Mateo Kovacic is set to be available despite calf fatigue in midweek.

Potter is relishing the chance to return to the Amex: “A place where I spent three happy years there. Looking forward to going back.

"Timing wasn't great for anybody, but sometimes that happens. Then it's a decision, and a decision to work here was too hard to turn down."

De Zerbi, Potter's successor, thanked the Englishman for the team but is fully focused on getting his first three points as Brighton manager.

"Potter did a very good job here. I have to say thanks for (giving me) this team. But tomorrow (Saturday) I must win. I want to win the first game."
