Meet Graham Potter's barber: The man who has given the Chelsea head coach a 'glow up'

Meet Graham Potter's barber: The man who has given the Chelsea head coach a 'glow up'

Graham Potter looks a lot fresher now he has joined Chelsea.

Graham Potter has made a fine start to life at Chelsea on the pitch since his appointment last month after going five games unbeaten, including four wins in a row.

Much has been made of the 47-year-old’s instant impact at Chelsea to get the confidence and winning run going again. It has restored Chelsea’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League knockouts, climbing from bottom of Group E to the top following two huge wins over AC Milan

Chelsea have won four on the bounce in all competitions, keeping three clean sheets in the process, and now has the Blues inside the Premier League top four.

But there has also been a spotlight on Potter’s appearance - his hairstyle and dress sense after he made the switch from Brighton & Hove Albion to west London.

Ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon at Villa Park, the Englishman was asked about his ‘glow up’ and Potter acknowledged the comments.

"Somebody said to me the other day that I have had a 'glow up',” responded the Chelsea head coach in a news conference, as quoted by BBC Sport..

“I have no idea what that is. I am growing into my face like fine wine."

Potter has changed barber and revealed he has had his clean trim by a barber who cuts some of the other players’ hair.

He added: "I have had a haircut from somebody that cuts the lads' hair. So probably that has made a difference, I don't know. It cost a lot more than I thought it was going to."

But who is Graham Potter’s barber?

Meet Cristian Gomez of Don Bigote on Fulham High Street in London.

Gomez first cut Potter’s hair before his first game in charge against RB Salzburg in the Champions League last month.

He shared a photo with the new Chelsea head coach on Instagram, writing: “Don Bigote treatment for the new boss.

“Good luck on the first game at Stamford bridge with Chelsea, Graham Potter.”

From postings on social media, Gomez has also cut the likes of Thiago Silva, Jorginho and Cesar Azpilicueta’s hair, as well as former Blues Emerson Palmieri and Timo Werner.

Gomez has other high-profile clients including Rodrigo Bentancur, Aleksandar Mitrović, Davinson Sanchez and Ruben Dias.

Potter wants the focus to be more on the football than what he looks like and wears, but he understands the light-hearted nature of the focus.

He concluded: "I would like discussions about me to be a bit more highbrow than about my jumper or my haircut but at the end of the day there is 24-hour news.

"You need to fill it with something so it may as well be about my jumper."
