Chelsea face FC Salzburg in the Champions League and the confirmed team news is in from Stamford Bridge.

Graham Potter will take charge of his first Chelsea game after being appointed as Thomas Tuchel’s successor last Thursday.

Chelsea began their 2022/23 European campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb, Tuchel’s final game in charge, and they will be keen to get their first win in Group E.

Salzburg head to England having drawn 1-1 with AC Milan in their opening Champions League group game last week, and will be full of confidence against a newly-managed Chelsea side.

Potter has never managed a Champions League game before but is relishing the challenge, admitting pre-match: "This is an amazing evening for us, for all of us, we are super excited.

"At the same time, we have been preparing a team, getting to know the players. It's a fantastic opportunity.

It appears as though Graham Potter has selected a back four for his first game in charge. Kepa starts in goal due to Edouard Mendy's absence.

Cesar Azpilicueta captains the side alongside Thiago Silva. Marc Cucurella and Reece James also start for the Blues.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leads the line, with Kai Havertz, Raheem Sterling and Mason Mount all joining him in the attack.

Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic partner in N'Golo Kante's injury absence.
